Every NRMA Insurance SurfGroms lesson is designed to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

NRMA Insurance SurfGroms teaches children aged 5–12 core ocean skills across five progressive levels. Along the way, kids develop essential ocean awareness and beach safety knowledge — including surf survival and rescue techniques, basic first aid skills, and understanding varying surf conditions.

NRMA Insurance SurfGroms, a national junior development program exclusive to licensed Surfing Australia Surf Schools, gives 5–12-year-olds across Australia the chance to learn surfing and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP).

This unique program focuses on fun and participation, using group-based games to teach essential surfing skills and help kids fall in love with the ocean.
